“John
Given came to us through the Carl Marks Consulting Group during the restructuring phase of our UK acquisition. Our competitive position and advancement depended on having selected product lines made in low cost regions. With limited internal experience of product line outsourcing, Given's role was to
outsource the first product line and coach management in the methodology of successful outsourcing. Given exceeded our expectations. Our product wasn't ideally
suited to outsourcing based on product volume, design and customization options, yet Given, working with the outsourcing team,
devised a way for the business to benefit from low cost production regions. Overall,
Given has improved the profitability of the business and helped develop our outsourcing and operational models."

Bowe, Chief Executive Officer, Avery Weigh-Tronix.

a business for over 10 years. He quickly grasps the business issues, recommends solutions
and, if required, executes the project. Given is a well-rounded executive, coach

“Given is an exceptional facilitator and negotiator
who really brokers the important issues when a company, seeking to reduce its cost structure, decides to make a contract and
trust another company with the production of its crown jewels in places such as China or Mexico. Given has integrity, and works hard to get a win-win deal for both parties.”

“We at Chemineer
met John Given when the Carl Marks Consulting Group was retained to investigate what was constraining the Chemineer business. Following an assessment phase and the presentation of recommendations, Given was engaged
as VP Operations on an interim basis while a search was performed to hire a new VP Operations.
This assignment lasted three months. During this assignment, John was
required to perform all the functions of the VP Operations position, which includes production and office support activities
such as Design and Drafting, Purchasing and Planning. John also assisted to help
recruit a full-time VP Operations. During this assignment, John not only performed
the ongoing responsibilities of the VP Operations position, but also began changes to improve the production
and office support activities. These changes included organizational changes
in the office, resolution of a substantial number of grievances from union employees and new awareness on the need for changes
among the whole production operation.
John's assignment
only lasted three months yet one year later people at Chemineer still refer to John positively and his observations and suggestions
to improve the business. His creativity and insight into production concerns
were strong and memorable to the employees at Chemineer. The changes he brought
to Chemineer still continue in force which is a testament to the positive changes that took place.
